I always teach my teams that there is a difference between Criticizing, Critiquing, and Coaching.

Criticizing is when someone identifies/voices a problem with no ability or desire to help fix it.

Critiquing is when someone identifies/voices a problem and has the desire but not ability to fix it, so they point the individual towards possible solutions, or towards others that can help fix it.

Coaching is when someone identifies/voices a problem, has the ability and desire to fix it, and helps the individual the put the practices in place to solve the problem
